All I know is that this was found in SW Portland. Thanks for the nice framing on the photograph, Tegan!

I found both of these couches sitting next to each other outside an apartment complex on SE 35th & Yamhill in Portland, OR.

The one on the left was covered in garbage and the one on the right is only half of a couch without any cushions. I wonder if they are still there?! :D

When I spotted this couch about a month ago near NE MLK and Rosa Parks Blvd, I knew I wanted it. It’s long, soft, luxurious - the ultimate party couch. I jumped out of the car and posed on it just so I could feel what it was like to own such a great sofa. Can you believe it was FREE? Somebody really scored a good one.

I spotted this couch on SE 28th Place and Clinton on August 18th. When I stopped, a girl jumped off her bicycle and tested the couch out. I think she was marking her territory when she saw me. Needless to say when I came back several hours later, the couch was still there. My friend Nicole and I tested it out and WHOA, it was VERY confortable.

The next series of blog posts will showcase the lovely couches that are so often abandoned on the side of the road in Portland, Oregon. Many are clean and wonderful and get snatched up in a matter of minutes. Some sit on the side of the road for weeks getting rained on until a neighbor calls the police.
This one was spotted on the corner of SE 26th and Harrison on August 13th. My friend Seamus shined his headlights at it so I could capture the photo with my cell phone at night.
This couch is no longer available. :(

For the sake of not embarrassing my friends, I won’t reveal who this couch belongs to, but will tell you that it sits on their front patio and people sit on it. In fact, on some occasions, visitors fall asleep on this couch.

This couch was sent to me by Karen G in Portland, Oregon. It looks really really bad and coupled with the torrential monsoons we had when this was originally posted, I can only imagine how this couch smells.  Karen says, “I found this outside a friend’s apt. It’s been there for over a week. No one wants it. All the other FREE stuff went fast. One can only imagine its back story due to the condition.”Another friend, Caitlin chimed in and says it’s sitting outside of her best friend’s apartment complex. Sounds like a lot of people have seen this hideous couch.
I wonder what its fate was…

Now you see it - now you don’t!

This couch was put up on Craigslist for $55 on the island of Oahu. Thank you, Jonica, for finding this amazing invisible couch.

Wonder Woman would be proud.

This “horn sofa” comes to us all the way from Fayetetville Alabama. The horns and cowhide are indeed real, but the seller would like you to know “just a little worn.” The best part? It’s only $500!
This couch is METAL.
